  • A secondary school education which is equivalent to a Canadian secondary school diploma 
  • At least one of the following: full-time classroom training of half a year in caregiving or one-year work experience as a caregiver or in any related job.
  • Must be capable to read, understand and communicate in either one of Canada’s official languages( English or French)
  • Must be free from any criminal form and must have a clear record

  • Must be able to provide care at least 30 hours every week
  • Must be willing to work in the home of the person being cared for
  • The employer must provide an LMIA which is not very necessary but it can be helpful to secure more qualifications which include

    • Must have experience working with children or older person who needs care
